Client testimonial:
“Amy was very knowledgeable and informative in helping me understand the different processes my mom was going through with her dementia. She not only cared deeply about my mom’s condition but was also concerned about how my siblings and I were dealing with her physical changes. There was always a sense of peace after discussing with Amy what to expect in the upcoming weeks and months with my mom’s condition. Amy was not only a wonderful caretaker for my mom but a friend to her. Even on mom’s “bad” days she always seemed to be able to calm her and even get her to smile with an occasional chuckle.”
Client testimonial:
”I know firsthand how warm, friendly & caring you were to my sister Jean & us!
It takes a special person to do that job & I’ll never forget how you tried to involve Jean in the every day activities. You worked your “magic” when we couldn’t!!
Thank you Amy & I always look forward to your emails. It was a hard time for not only Jean, but for us too. It sure helped knowing you were always available to answer any of our many questions & most importantly being there for Jean!“
Client testimonial:
Amy House came as a blessing to my parent's facility a while after our parents become residents there. Mom was in the memory care unit I believe when Amy started and we were thrilled with the changes and knowledge she brought with her. Her caring nature to our Mom and the other residents was remarkable and the knowledge she was able to share with us to understand what our Mother was going through was so very helpful to us children and our Father. As most of us only first go through these difficult stages when our parents get to that point, we don’t have experience to understand the best way to care for them, understand what they are going through, and also deal with our many emotions in seeing our parents struggle. Amy was there to help though all those difficulties.
Client testimonial: “Our family chose to place my Dad in Amy's care facility after hearing about her from a close relative. My cousin's wife praised Amy's favorable care of her mom several years prior. I am so relieved that Dad was able to receive comfort and tenderness from Amy's understanding of Alzhiemers. Amy was able to reduce anxiety when it surfaced and softly explained things to Dad when he would get confused. I can't recommend Amy enough to those having to make similar situations that our family had to make.”

"I had the pleasure of hearing Amy House speak at the University of MN Caring for People with Memory Loss Conference on Working Together with your Memory Care Staff. Amy caught my attention with her questions to the audience, "when your loved one moves to a memory care, how does your role change? How can I bring forth concerns? How can the staff and I work together to be a cohesive team?"
With her 'coaching hat' on Amy had several practical tips for a family member.....My path has crossed with Amy several times over the years of walking with my Dad through Alzheimer's and I have always been impressed with her knowledge, her understanding of what a family member feels and her ability to be unflappable. Amy speaks well on the subject and has a wide knowledge of Alzheimer's. Amy has extensive training in the Teepa Snow methodology....Amy had several "hands on" pieces of information."
"As both an industry-professional and as someone who had a family member in Memory Care, I found the "Working Together with your Memory Care Staff" especially insightful. Amy uses her connecting skills and humor to share pragmatic suggestions for families and care staff communication. She clarifies care staff responsibilities (Nurse vs. Resident Assistant) which can help a family member understand the tasks they can expect from each type of care provider. Most helpful to me was her suggestions for families to keep a journal of both positive and negative experiences including dates, times and staff members. This is a tool families can use to identify repeated issues that are appropriate to bring forth to care staff management. Conversely, positive experiences can be celebrated and used to reward staff. I left the presentation with new and practical tools for facilitating family and care staff collaboration."
